Lahore rally pledges to back militants
More than 10,000 Pakistanis attended a rally in Lahore on Sunday to pledge continued support for militants opposed to Indian control of any part of Kashmir.

Leaders of several conservative and religious groups addressed the rally, expressing opposition to moves by the Pakistani government aimed at stopping Pakistani-based militants crossing into Indian-administered Kashmir.

They accused President Pervez Musharraf of giving in to pressure from the United States.

Mr Musharraf gave a pledge to the Americans earlier this month that Pakistan would stop such infiltrations.
