Indian forces kill two Islamic militants
The authorities in Indian-administrated Kashmir say security forces have killed two Islamic militants belonging to the Pakistan-based Al-Badr group. Security officials said that, acting on a tip-off, the army, supported by counter-insurgency police, fought a gun battle with the two men who had barricaded themselves inside a house in the central district of Badgam. Police said one of the militants was a local man, the other a Pakistani. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
