Kashmiri militant leader killed

The deputy leader of a Kashmiri militant group, Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen, has been killed in Indian-administered Kashmir.

Indian officials say Manzoor Ahmed Ganai - who was also called Rafiq - was shot dead after trying to drive through a security cordon near Nowgam, on the outskirts of Srinagar on Sunday.

However, the head of the group, Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman, said Mr Ganai was killed while in Indian custody, having been arrested at his hide-out on Saturday, following a tip-off.
