Five dead in Kashmir gunbattle
The authorities in Indian-administered Kashmir say two members of the security forces and three militants have died in a gunbattle in the district of Rajouri.

An army spokesman said three soldiers had also been injured in the clash, which had lasted for around five hours in a mountain forest.

He said one militant had been captured, and had confessed that the group had been planning to attack a recently-constructed Hindu temple in the area.

The spokesman said both and the three men who died were Pakistani nationals.
