Bangladesh plans crackdown on porn

The Bangladeshi authorities are planning a drive against the burgeoning pornography business.

The Home Minister, Altaf Hossein Chowdhury, told the BBC that stern action would be taken against the growing number of pornographic film makers.

He also promised measures to stop under-the-counter sales of pornographic films in video shops.

He said pornography was offensive to the people of Bangladesh - anyone caught selling blue movies would be severely punished.
