More sectarian violence in Pakistan
Police in Pakistani Punjab say three Shi'ites have been killed in what's believed to be a sectarian attack by militant Sunnis. Police said two sons of a prominent Shia businessman and their driver were ambushed by unidentified gunmen on Sunday evening in Faisalabad. The murders come a day after a similar attack on Saturday in Shorkot, also in Punjab, in which a member of the Shia organisation, Tehreek-e-Jafria was killed. Hundreds of people have been killed in Pakistan in recent years in violence between rival Shia and Sunni groups. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
