Residents in a village in Rutland have clubbed together to raise £37,000 to install their own high speed broadband after getting fed up of waiting for large companies to provide the service.

After telecom firms had said it was not economical to provide fast services to the village, Lyddington now boasts the fastest rural broadband in the UK with speeds of up to 40Mbps.

Graham Satchell spoke to one resident, Peter Lawson, who contributed to the venture.
