Images of a solar sun spot

A new mission that will help unravel the secrets of the Sun is set to launch.

Nasa's Solar Dynamics Observatory will acquire detailed images of our star to try to get a better understanding of why it behaves the way it does.

It will help to answer questions about the Sun's magnetic field, as Professor Louise Hara, from the UK's University College London explains here.
