Cheers greet Large Hadron Collider restart

Scientists applauded as sub-atomic beams began circulating the world's most powerful particle accelerator again.

The giant Large Hadron collider, built to reproduce "Big Bang" conditions, was operating again after a year's delay, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (Cern) said.
