Astronauts from the Atlantis space shuttle have been taking the first spacewalk.

Michael Foreman and Robert Satcher floated outside to hook up a spare antenna and cables on the International Space Station.

It was the first spacewalk for Satcher, who became the first orthopaedic surgeon in space when Atlantis blasted off earlier this week. Three space walks are planned during the shuttle's week long visit.
