China's climate change pledge

Chinese President Hu Jintao has used a speech at the UN climate change conference to unveil new steps to tackle emissions.

He said China would "endeavour to cut carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP by a notable margin by 2020 from the 2005 level."

The UN meeting in New York is being attended by about 100 world leaders.
