Two species of songbird in Peru have evolved near-identical songs, scientists report in the journal Evolution.
This recording is of the "territorial" songs of the Peruvian warbling-antbird followed by the yellow-breasted warbling-antbird.
These birds compete for space and resources in the Amazon and male birds sing to deter rivals and intruders.
Within species these songs are the same but this, the researchers say, is the first evidence of two different species with the same territorial song.
