Perfect Storm: Water

The UK's chief scientist John Beddington has warned that by 2030 the rising global population will create a 'perfect storm' of food, energy and water shortages.

In California irrigation helped turn the state into an agricultural superpower but a lack of water is now turning parts of the state into a poverty-stricken dustbowl.

David and Sharon Wakefield risk losing their farm as a result. They showed Rajesh Mirchandani how their landscape has changed.
