Rare prickly shark captured

A prickly shark has been captured for only the second time ever, in a submarine canyon off the coast of California.

Very little is known about the species, which has rough scales on its upper body and two dorsal fins towards its tail.

The animal was tagged and returned to the ocean after spending around 15 hours on display at the Monterey Aquarium.
