How to predict a hurricane

The annual hurricane season, which lasts for six months, has begun in America, with forecasters predicting an "average" year.

But with quiet seasons bringing deadly storms and causing misery for millions, accurate predictions can be vital.

Andy Gallacher visited the National Hurricane Centre in Miami, where he learned how the teams there try to help 35 million people in hurricane-prone areas.
