Arctic ice-cap rapid melt warning

A leading UK scientist says that the Arctic sea-ice could vanish in summertime far sooner than predicted.

His forecast comes as three British explorers complete their trek across the Arctic.

They have been measuring the thickness of the ice in a bid to help scientists understand the changes taking place in the polar region.
