How to breathalyse a whale

Using a remote-controlled helicopter, battling against strong winds, scientists manage to collect residue from a sperm whale's breath.

The samples can now be used for invaluable research into the health of the whales.

The BBC Oceans series starts its run on BBC Two at 2000 GMT, Wednesday 12 November. You can also hear an interview with Dr Karina Acevedo-Whitehouse on Science In Action from Friday
