Shuttle docks with Russian station

In 1995 US and Russian spacecraft docked in orbit for the first time in 20 years.

The US shuttle Atlantis delivered a relief crew of two cosmonauts to the Russian Mir space station, sparking celebrations in Moscow and Washington.
