Radio 1 held its first ever Teen Awards on Sunday, bringing the likes of JLS, Pixie Lott, Katy Perry and The Wanted to Hammersmith Apollo in London.

School Report sent a team of young journalists from Featherstone School in Southall, London to report on the star-studded show, and they delivered a series of top interviews.

They spoke to Tinchy Stryder about his new album and how Jay-Z inspired him when he was growing up, while Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw admitted to a serious crisp addiction!

The School Reporters also spoke to 16-year old Connor, the winner of one of the evening's Teen Hero awards.

Connor was honoured for fronting a fire safety campaign after undergoing more than 100 operations following an accident in which he suffered 90% burns.

Wow! This was a fantastic trip full of fun and information.

JLS at the R1 Teen Awards
The press room at the Hammersmith Apollo hosted the likes of JLS

I have learnt a lot while being backstage at the R1 Teen Awards. There was a lot of press from magazines like Bliss, Heat and many more.

There were a lot of camera flashes going off here and there and the set-up was amazing.

In the press room they had a background of the Teen Awards and it actually felt like you were outside and not backstage in a press room.

It was awesome - the opportunity of a lifetime. I will never forget it!

The concert was absolutely crazy!

It was so loud I couldn't hear myself think. The audience went mad.

JLS started the show, singing 'One Shot' and at the end Aston did a fantastic flip and the crowd went wild.

We watched Taylor Swift perform and it was fabulous. After that we watched The Wanted sing 'All Time Low' and it was brilliant.

Then when I thought it couldn't get any better Katy Perry sang 'Hot and Cold', then 'Teenage Dreams'. After that she sang 'Fireworks' from her new album and lastly to finish off she sang 'California Girls'.

The whole event was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I just saw and watched it all. Interviewing the stars was so weird because they talked to me normally - the whole event was magical.

It was an amazing line-up with a breathtaking amount of celebrities.

People like Joe McElderry, the wonderful Taylor Swift, the amazing Olly Murs, the great Tinchy Stryder, surprising McFly, the cheeky Nick Grimshaw and the Teen Hero Connor.

It was great to interview these fantastic people, and it was a breathtaking moment to see Taylor Swift.

Watch the awards ceremony, backstage interviews and performance highlights on Wednesday 17 November at 1900 GMT on BBC Three
