Garth Crooks backs Gareth Southgate for England job

With England boss Fabio Capello due to stand down at the end of Euro 2012, the race is on to replace the Italian at the helm.

The Football Association is keen for the next manager to be homegrown, and BBC pundit Garth Crooks told School Reporters from Accrington Academy that former Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate deserves a chance.

Crooks says England should look to appoint a younger manager, and says Southgate - a former England international now working for the FA as head of elite development - is a strong candidate.
