School Reporters looked into the success of the students Auschwitz film

When students from a school in Glasgow went on a field trip to Auschwitz in October 2009, they didn't quite know what it would lead to.

As part of their trip the students from Shawlands Academy made a film, exploring the story and continuing relevance of the wartime concentration camp- especially to young people today.

Returning home, they developed and edited their film and it received its premiere in a local cinema on National Holocaust Memorial Day.

Success story

Feedback was so positive that the decision was taken to turn it into an educational resource for use by students in all Scottish schools.

In their news report, students Roisheen, Maariyah and Kimberley explore the success story of the documentary film, interviewing some of the young filmmakers and teachers involved.

Teacher Lindsey Campbell said, "School Report has been a great way to showcase the film work of the students, and the story of its evolution into a resource for all."
