The Father of Ethiopian Jazz

The man known as "The Father of Ethiopian Jazz", Mulatu Astatke, has become Ethiopia's foremost musical ambassador in a career that's spanned more than forty years.

He trained in London, New York and Boston, but is renowned for combining Western jazz influences with traditional Ethiopian music.

The BBC's Peter Biles went to meet him.
