A lifetime award for veteran film director Agnes Varda

Agnes Varda was one of the leading figures of the French New Wave film movement, amongst such leading cinematic lights as Jean-Luc Godard and Francois Truffaut.

Now, in recognition of her life's work, the 82 year old has been awarded the prestigious Carosse D'Or award at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.

Varda spoke to World News Today about her life and films.
