Five years ago, Hurricane Katrina delivered a devastating blow to the Gulf Coast.

The Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans was hit particularly hard.

The area was flooded when the levees failed and many drowned. Others escaped but their homes were destroyed. As the anniversary approaches, nearly three-quarters of the residents have still not returned.

Andy Gallacher has been to the Lower Ninth Ward, and met with some of those still struggling to recover their community.
