Military service and sacrifice in Iowa

The American Mid-West state of Iowa has begun its deployment of nearly 3,000 troops to Afghanistan - its biggest commitment of troops since World War II.

Red Oak is no stranger to service and sacrifice. This small Iowan town has sent its men and women to fight in every military engagement since the Civil War.

The BBC's Zoe Conway spoke to the town's residents about their willingness to serve - and the sacrifices made along the way.
