US President Barack Obama is to tell Americans in his first State of the Union address to Congress he has never been more hopeful for the future.
The majority of his speech is expected to focus on the economy and job creation, as well as his troubled healthcare reform plans and lobbyists' election contributions.
But he faces a tough audience, with a bitterly divided Congress and two-thirds of Americans now claiming that the country is headed in the wrong direction.
