Afghan Impact?

Remembrance Day ceremonies are imbued with an even greater poignancy coinciding as they did with the announcement that two more British soldiers lost their lives this weekend in Helmand.

With polls suggesting that public confidence in the Afghanistan mission is waning, Gordon Brown has tried to re-emphasize the government's commitment to security in the country, insisting that Britain must not and will not walk away. At the same time though he warned the Afghan leader President Karzai that he was not prepared to put the lives of soldiers in harm's way for a government that did not stand up to corruption.

He was accused by the opposition of sending out mixed messages. But what might he further its impact on public opinion be? Our regular pollster Mike Smithson from Politicalbetting.com dropped into our studio along with Kevin Maguire, Associate Editor at the Daily Mirror.
