Just as President Obama employed a personal photographer to follow him on the campaign trail, so a similar appointment has been made by the Conservative leader David Cameron.

Prepare for more "caught in the moment" shots of Cameron pensive, Cameron amused, Cameron backstage before a big speech.

But as he and other politicians have found, it's not always possible to control how you come across - for example when it's in a photo opportunity staged as a media event by your press officers.

It might seem a good idea at the time, but Mandy Baker's been finding out how the tried and tested photo opportunity can have disastrous results.

She starts with the first appearance before the cameras of David Cameron's youngest child, little Arthur Elwen.
