Got a secret?

Then say it on the floor of the House of Commons and it will stay safe.

So says Labour MP Tom Watson the latest politician to bemoan the lack of reporting of Parliamentary debates.

He blames the parliamentary Lobby - the 200 or so journalists allowed to attend daily briefings by the Prime Minister's official spokesman.

Until recently Mr. Watson was a cabinet office minister and a close member of the Prime Minister's inner circle. It's alleged he was a key player in the so called "curry house plot" to force Tony Blair to resign.

We brought Tom Watson together with the veteran political journalist George Jones who is now with the Press Association following many years as the Telegraph's Political Editor.
