From Trotsky to Respect

In the Thatcher years, Geoffrey Wall spent his spare time fighting the class struggle as a member of the York branch of the Marxist Socialist Workers' Party.

Since then he's joined the bourgeoisie and now teaches English at York University. But he still sees many of his former comrades around the city of York. One is driving a bus, another owns a BMW.

In part one of 'From Trotsky to Respect', Geoffrey Wall talks to former comrades about the roots of the SWP and asks why they believed that a proletarian revolution was once actually possible.

In part two, he tells the history of the Marxist Socialist Workers Party through the eyes of members past and present.
