Ann Widdecombe on George Osborne's economic plans

Ann Widdecombe on George Osborne's speech on the economy and the plans of a future Tory government.

The Shadow Chancellor toughened up the Tory message on cuts - saying he would work "flat out" on cutting the deficit, and that he would make an "early start" to build credibility and bring confidence to the markets.

In a later BBC interview, Mr Osborne said cuts need to happen as soon as possible.
