Should we save the UK car industry?

The car industry has been among the hardest hit in the recession, with companies forced to lay off workers and suspend production.

The Government is under pressure to shore up what is left of UK's motor manufacturing industry.

As negotiations go on over a possible rescue deal for Vauxhall, Anne Alexander looks at the case for and against protecting the UK car industry.
