Osborne 'lacks judgement to be Chancellor'

The poll will make grim reading for Shadow Chancellor George Osborne
Only one in six people (16%) thinks George Osborne has the judgement necessary to be a future Chancellor, according to a poll conducted for Daily Politics.

However, in the same poll only a third of people (31%) believe that George Osborne has lost the public's confidence and should resign.

On Peter Mandelson only one in five people (21%) thinks that he has the judgement necessary to be Secretary of State for business and just one in five people (21%) thinks that Gordon Brown was right to bring back Lord Mandelson back into Government.

The poll was conducted for BBC2's Daily Politics programme by ComRes. They spoke to 1,011 voters between 22nd and 23rd October.
