Your oaths of allegiance
I DO SOLEMLY SWEAR...
union flag

What do you think should be in a UK oath of allegiance?

Children could be asked to swear an oath of allegiance to the Queen under new plans to be unveiled by the government later this week.

It's all part of the Citizenship Review. You might remember that back in December, we asked you for your suggestions for a new sixth verse of the national anthem, and you certainly did not disappoint - see the link under the picture of the flag.

And since details of the content of the possible oath are patchy at the moment, we think it's time again for your input. What do you think Lord Goldsmith should be proposing? You can give us a couple of lines, or an entire oath.

We await your answers with the usual mixture of delight and trepidation...
