Real Story with Fiona Bruce is a current affairs programme built around key characters who give a human face to the week's big stories.
Close working links with both BBC News and the BBC's regional news teams enables the programme to draw on a massive story gathering base and use the UK's brightest and best on-screen talent.
Fiona Bruce, who has reported on a number of issues throughout each series, said: "It's a fantastic opportunity for me to get my teeth into stories that I hope will get people talking, and really connect with their lives."
When Real Story launched, the BBC's then head of Current Affairs, Peter Horrocks, called it "a valuable addition to our story telling capacity - popular current affairs, but with BBC values."
Real Story is edited by Dave Stanford and the series producer is Mike Lewis.
The programme is broadcast on BBC One every Monday at 1930 GMT.
