Alan Dedicoat
Alan was born in Hollywood (Worcestershire) and went to school in Birmingham and then on to Birmingham University.

He decided against a career in law, opting instead for the world of showbusiness (in the form of BBC Radio Birmingham) and then BBC Radio Devon.

In 1987 he joined BBC Radio 2's presentation department at Broadcasting House in London, and now leads a team of announcers which keeps the network on air 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Alan is also the "Voice of the Balls" - calling out the numbers twice a week on the National Lottery draw.
