I have recently scene your trailer regarding the Hebden bridge recycling experience.
In the Huddersfield area the local council is stepping up its efforts to recycle more of our waste!
We as a family have been recycling as much as possible ie.washing all bottles, yoghurt pots and composting our food waste. This has resulted in ourselves requiring three green bins due to the collection regime, but Kirklees council is changing it's regime.
It no longer require us to recycle plastic products such as yoghurt pots and plastic trays as "There is only an established market in the UK for plastic bottles". This also extends to aluminium foil as this is not required yet an aluminium can is, and many more items.
This council is now requiring me to recycle less and waste more yet only a few miles down the road a town such as Hebden bridge has found solutions to their problems.
Kirklees seem to have a very short sighted view on recylcling.
As a result of their actions it seems we may require more grey bins for the extra waste we will now be producing. Regarding Hebden bridges claim to be the only town in Europe that doesn't use plastic bags I feel that this may be incorrect as I believe that Southern Ireland doesn't use plastic bags.
