Quid pro quo for joining coalition?
For nearly 30 years, Pakistan's nuclear development has unnerved politicians in the West, but in September, with one stroke of the American pen, years of sanctions against Pakistan came to an end.

Diplomats are quick to point out that this is not simply a quid pro quo for cooperation in the fight against terrorism. But that is certainly how it appears.

So has the nuclear risk in South Asia simply come to an end?
