Local Authority Water Spend
Some councils spend thousands of pounds on bottled water while others spend virtually nothing.

We asked all of the councils in England and Wales the following question:

"We would like to know how much your council spent on Bottled Water in the last year for which figures are available. This includes water supplied for water coolers, but not if they are mains-fed."

It should be noted that there was a variance as to how far councils could source their figures: eg, some could only provide their expenditure on bottled water for their offices; while others lumped in their expenditure for schools etc as well.

We have included the comments supplied by each council within their response, and these should explain what the figures are for and the dates they cover.
