IOC member Ivan Slavkov was 'open to negotiation' about his vote

Following Panorama's investigation into corruption and the Olympics, the Bulgarian Ivan Slavkov has been expelled from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
On Thursday 7 July 2005, 82 members voted in favour of expelling him, with only 12 voting against at the IOC session in Singapore, despite Slavkov making a 20-minute plea to the committee. He had been charged with bringing the IOC into disrepute.
As part of "Buying the games" Slavkov was secretly filmed saying that members would take bribes to vote for London getting the 2012 Games.
Slavkov will also be barred from being chairman of the Bulgarian national Olympic committee, a post he held even after being suspended from the IOC.
