John "Coco" White
John White
John White is Johnny 'Mad Dog' Adair's closest ally in his breakaway C Compnay unit of the Ulster Defence Association..

Now Adair's PR man, White was a former chairman of the now defunct Ulster Democratic Party (UDP), the political wing of the UDA.

He was thrown out of the UDA last year, along with Adair and has received numerous death threats since.

At one stage he claims to have received nine death threats from fellow loyalists in the space of nine weeks.

Shocking murder

The closest he has come to losing his life in the feud was when a firebomb was found in his house last December.

John White was jailed for life in 1973 for one of the most shocking double murders in the history of the Northern Ireland troubles.

He ended up serving 14 years for stabbing Catholic councillor Paddy Wilson and his female friend.

White is a man of wealth and property. The result, he claims, of wisely investing the proceeds of handicrafts he made while in jail.

Flee

In fact, at a former country retreat , he kept horses and raised pot bellied pigs.

He was one of the people forced to flee Northern Ireland after the death of rival UDA brigadier John "Grugg" Gregg.

John White was last thought to be living in the Salford area of Greater Manchester.
