Tom Service

Tom Service writes about music for The Guardian, where he is Chief Classical Music Critic, and has presented Music Matters on BBC Radio 3 since 2003.

He was Guest Artistic Director of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in 2005, having finished his PhD on the music of John Zorn at the University of Southampton in 2004.

He has taught at Trinity of College of Music, and has given lectures, talks and written programme notes for Britain's major classical music festivals and institutions.

He is currently writing a book on conductors and conducting for Faber.
