SON OF RAMBOW
Son of Rambow is set in 1980s suburban England.
Lee is a schoolboy entrepreneur and trouble-maker, Will is an over-imaginative member of the strict Plymouth Brethren.
When Will sees Lee's pirated copy of Rambo: First Blood he becomes a willing volunteer in Lee's home video homage version of the film and an unlikely friendship is formed. But will our panel be laughing into their space dust?
Son of Rambow stars new-comers Bill Milner and Will Poulter, and is written and directed by Garth Jennings. It opens nationwide on Friday 4th April, Certificate 12A
BORN YESTERDAY: THE NEWS AS A NOVEL by Gordon Burn
British writer Gordon Burn likes to explore the line between fact and fiction - from his novel Alma Cogan where he imagined Cogan had not died early, to factual books about the Yorkshire Ripper and Fred and Rose West.
In Born Yesterday he sets himself the challenge of turning the news events of summer 2007 into a novel.
The result knits together the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, the attempted car bombings in London, Gordon Brown's ascent to power along with floods, murders and celebrity stalkings.
Born Yesterday: The News as a Novel by Gordon Burn is published by Faber.
THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT Almeida Theatre, London
Rupert Goold - winner of the 2007 Evening Standard Best Director award - takes the directing helm for the European premiere of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, written by the critically acclaimed playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis (Our Lady of 121st & Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train).
The play is set in a courtroom in Hope - a place somewhere between Heaven and Hell - where Judas Iscariot is brought to trial.
The protagonist is played by Joseph Mawle, who recently starred as Jesus in BBC's The Passion and who now gets the chance to play the fated Judas.
He is joined by Ron Cephas Jones who plays Pontius Pilate, Edward Hogg stars as Jesus of Nazareth and Douglas Henshall takes on the role of Satan.
The Last Days of Judas Iscariot continues at the Almeida Theatre, London until 10 May.
THIRD PORTISHEAD
Formed 17 years ago, Bristol trio Portishead were pioneers of the ethereal 90s trip hop sound. Despite being titled "Third" this new album is actually Geoff Barrow, Beth Gibbons and Adrian Utley's fourth if you include their 1998 release of a one off performance, "Roseland NYC Live".
Portishead fans will be eagerly waiting to see if the new tracks are a return to the signature sound of their two studio albums, the influential 1995 Mercury Prize winning "Dummy" and the 1997 follow up "Portishead".
Third is released by Island Records on 28 April.
