Sam Tanenhaus is the editor of the New York Times Book Review and former contributing editor at Vanity Fair.

His journalism has appeared in publications including The New York Times and New York Review of Books.

His 2003 profile of Paul Wolfowitz in Vanity Fair included the admission that weapons of mass destruction were a bureaucratic pretext for the war in Iraq, causing an international sensation.

His book "An Un-American Life: The Case Whittaker Chambers" was published in February 2007.
