PIP implant women confront health minister

Some of the 40,000 women in Britain who have received PIP breast implants came on Newsnight to put their questions and fears to Health Minister Anne Milton.

The implants were banned after they were found to contain a non-medical grade silicone filler.

In December, the French government recommended the removal of all PIP implants because of concerns about high rupture rates and doubts about their long-term safety, but the UK government said there was no need for routine removal.
