Japan's economic lost decades 'myth'

The 1990s and 2000s have been know as the "lost decades" for Japan's economy because of flat growth, but other indicators show that there were improvements in the country's finances and society.

Newsnight's Emily Maitlis is joined by journalist Eamonn Fingleton and the FT's Gillian Tett to discuss.

Broadcast on Thursday 12 January 2012.
