Is the middle-class American dream over?

The economic problems in the US have meant that for millions of people the American Dream of doing better than your parents has been shattered.

Recent studies suggest that moving up the economic scale is more difficult in the US nowadays than in Canada or Western Europe.

Peter Marshall reports from Ohio, on what could be a make or break issue for Barack Obama's presidency.
