Can football rescue restive Dagestan?

Dagestan is the most dangerous corner of Russia, a rebellious Muslim-dominated republic on the country's southern border next door to Chechnya.

Now a billionaire is hoping to change things by pouring vast sums of money into the republic's football team and other projects. But can changing things on the pitch really change politics? Lucy Ash reports.

Broadcast on Thursday 25 November 2011.
