Dale Farm, the United Nations and 'racial discrimination'

The operation to evict travellers from the Dale Farm site in Basildon began on Wednesday morning after weeks of delays caused by legal proceedings.

Clashes took between police officers and protesters, with one person Tasered.

Local MP John Baron came on Newsnight to discuss the implications of the site clearance with Anastasia Crickley, a member of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which is considering the case.
