Debating the changing nature of protest

In recent weeks we have seen violence on the streets and sit-ins in colleges over tuition fees. High street stores have been invaded over tax arrangements and online businesses targeted by "hacktivists" in support of Wikileaks.

Gavin Esler is joined by filmmaker and activist Michael Moore, Daniel Garvin from the campaigning group UK Uncut, and by the MP and former army officer Patrick Mercer, to discuss the changing nature of protest.

Gavin begins by asking Michael Moore why he supports Wikileaks' founder Julian Assange.

Broadcast on Tuesday 14 December 2010.
